Background
Cotylenin A (CN-A) has unique anti-tumor characteristics such as differentiation inducing effect or apoptosis inducing effect in combination with interferon-alpha (IFN) (Cancer Sci 2007; 98: 1643-1651). Since the fungus, which produce CN, is extinct and it can not be provided from the nature, the group of researchers has been trying to re-create CN-A utilizing fusicoccin(FC), a CN-A congener (WO2008/010324A1).
